In my opinion, that moment will come when the rights of innocents caught up in this DNA web are enhanced to offer greater protection of their personal dignity. Then, and only then will familial testing be generally accepted. In other words, new investigative techniques require greater and offsetting social safegaurds. In time, this debate will be resolved.
