My Mom and Dad's 50th wedding
anniversary was coming up and I wanted to create an heirloom quilt that
would be cherished and passed down to future generations.
I came up with an idea and took my parents' wedding picture and surrounded
it with baby pictures of their children and their six grandchildren.
My son scanned those into the computer and then had them pressed onto
the quilt blocks. The blocks were sewn together surrounded by three coordinating
fabrics.
The theme of the quilt was "how does your garden grow?" The quilt turned
out beautifully and is something that is sure to be treasured.
I also made a matching square pillow with my parents' first great-grandchild's
picture on the front of it. With the birth of each new great-grandchild,
another pillow will be made. Word has it that another great-grandchild
will be arriving in December!
