| Before my daughter went into
the hospital for back surgery she bought some pieces of embroidery to work
on while she recuperated.
It so happened that she bought two of each piece. One day she asked me,
"If I get these done, will you make them into a quilt?"
I had never done any quilting and, knowing that she had never completed
a project before, I nonchalantly said, "Sure."
Wouldn't you know it, she held me to my promise.
When I finished my part of the job we decided to enter it in the county
fair. Surprise, surprise, the quilt was awarded first place—a blue
ribbon.
