A friend looked at this artwork and as she examined the piece her grin kept getting wider and wider. This was a huge compliment, but I have to give some credit to the medium of quilts. I think that a quilt's connection to comfort and everyday life helps put the viewer at ease. Viewing quilts seems to put most people into a uniquely receptive mode that you don't get with other forms of art.
