Asia
- Location and Climate
Asia is subject to the world's widest climatic extremes, and consequently,
produces the most varied forms of vegetation and animal life on Earth.
The climate is generally temperate, although dramatic and sudden rainfall
during the monsoon seasons can be hazardous; flood, earthquakes and
volcanic eruptions are common. Humidity and temperature vary greatly
according to elevation. The mountain systems of Central Asia form
a forbidding natural barrier to human migration. |
