Composer Linda Tutas Haugen's Breath of the Mountains was commissioned by the McCall Music Society for its chamber orchestra and community chorus. While the Idaho project was intended to address McCall's history and culture, the venture took on a life of its own, fueled by the cooperative efforts of the local non-profit sponsoring groups. The premiere performance was the finale of a heritage festival at the historic Roseberry townsite which showcased traditional arts and crafts.
