White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on Wednesday that President Donald Trump hasn't set a deadline for receiving a proposal from the Iranians.

"Ultimately, the timeline would be dictated by the commander in chief and the president of the United States," she said.

Trump said on Tuesday the United States was indefinitely extending its ceasefire with Iran as a new round of peace talks was on hold.

"He is satisfied with the naval blockade and he understands that Iran is in a very weak position and the cards are in President Trump's hands right now," Leavitt said.
