House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy criticized President Joe Biden for not providing more to aid Ukraine with military weapons ahead of Russia's invasion.

McCarthy, speaking at press conference on Capitol Hill Wednesday, said the Biden administration "should have taken action to allow Ukraine to buy weapons early. That could deter Russian President Vladimir Putin from entering and invading."
The Republican leader was also asked about comments former President Donald Trump made about Putin last month on a radio program, describing his actions relating to Ukraine as "genius" and "savvy."
"I do not think anything savvy or genius about Putin, I think Putin is evil. I think he's a dictator. I think he's murdering people right now," McCarthy said.
