Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly spoke Thursday on the final night of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, an evening focused on the future as Kamala Harris formally accepts her party's nomination for president.

Kelly, who appeared alongside his wife, former Arizona Rep. Gabby Giffords earlier in the night, spoke about how former president Donald Trump damaged the reputation of the United States worldwide.
"[Trump] was too busy sucking up to dictators and dreaming of becoming one himself," Kelly said. "Trump thinks that Americans who have made the ultimate sacrifice are suckers and losers and if we fall for that again and make him the commander-in-chief, the only suckers would be us."
Harris' speech is her first official chance to offer her vision for the country to voters. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz formally accepted the vice presidential nomination the day before.
