A Singapore Airlines passenger airplane bound for Milan returned to the Changi Airport in Singapore on Monday and caught fire after showing an engine warning.
The airline said in a statement that the Boeing 777-300ER was in the air for more than four hours, but the pilot turned back "following an engine oil warning message."
"The fire was put out by airport emergency services and there were no injuries to the 222 passengers and 19 crew on board," the statement said.
Passengers were transferred to another airplane that was to depart for Milan later Monday, reported the Associated Press.
