The Greenville Fault is the easternmost of the faults that make up the San Andreas Fault system in the San Francisco Bay area. It runs about 44 miles from the Diablo Range north to the Livermore Valley, an area with a rapidly growing population. Frequent, small earthquakes occur along the fault -- more in the Livermore section of the fault zone.
