The San Gregorio Fault extends north from Monterey Bay, Calif. and joins the San Andreas Fault near the Bolinas Bay northwest of San Francisco. The fault is located mostly offshore west of San Francisco. No recent earthquakes have occurred along the fault zone, which passes through San Mateo and Santa Cruz counties. |
