Real Simple Television Productions Inc.
Overview
Like the award-winning magazine of the same name, Real Simple television offers strategies to help make your busy life easier and better. The weekly half-hour PBS show — hosted by (from left to right) Cydnee Welburn, Rob Keefe, and Brooke Alexander — presents useful, smart solutions to everyday problems in an appealing, easy-to-follow way.
Want to know how to throw together a delicious last-minute dinner from whatever you have in the refrigerator? How to upgrade supermarket flowers into beautiful centerpieces? How to streamline your schedule? The answers are simple on Real Simple Television — a series unlike anything else on the air.
Hosts
Brooke Alexander
Brooke Alexander brings diverse experience to her new role as co-host of Real Simple Television. She began her career as a model in her home state of Hawaii, which quickly led to recurring parts on TV shows, including Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum P.I. In 1994, she originated the role of Samantha Markham on CBS’s daytime drama As the World Turns, for which she won the Soap Opera Digest Award for outstanding female newcomer. Brooke has also racked up experience in the news realm, reporting for both CNN WorldBeat and Fox News. As a working mom, she’s always looking for ways to make daily life easier — and when she finds them, she’s eager to pass them along to Real Simple Television’s viewers.
Rob Keefe
In addition to being a single dad and a marathon runner, Rob Keefe has worked extensively in theater and on television as both a writer and performer. A native of Louisville, Kentucky, he has acted with regional theaters in Boston, New York, and San Francisco; his sketch comedy has been featured at New York’s Westbank Café and Red Room theater and at The Improv in Los Angeles; and his film work includes Being Human with Robin Williams. On television, he has appeared on Guiding Light and Comedy Central’s Chappelle’s Show.
Cydnee Welburn
Growing up in Great Falls, Virginia, Cydnee Welburn spent more than a decade studying dance before the acting bug bit her. After earning her acting degree from the School of Theater at Florida State University, she went on to appear in popular television shows (Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Dawson’s Creek) and several national commercials (Wendy’s, Papa John’s, Maxwell House). Cydnee is an enthusiastic traveler and volunteers by working with kids at the Theater Garden (a children’s theater company) and The Children’s Aid Society in New York City.
