Following U.S.-Israeli Attacks on Iran, FRONTLINE Presents Two Updated Documentaries

March 6, 2026

Amid U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran and Iran’s retaliation, FRONTLINE is premiering new and timely reporting that will feature in updated versions of two comprehensive documentaries examining the roots of the conflict and its impact.

With the conflict widening to other countries and the Trump administration saying that fighting could last for weeks or longer, FRONTLINE’s updated reporting will provide crucial context and explore the impact and stakes for the region.

  • First, on Tuesday, March 10 at 10/9c (check local listings), FRONTLINE will air and begin streaming an updated presentation of Remaking the Middle East. From award-winning FRONTLINE filmmakers James Jacoby and Anya Bourg, the deeply reported two-hour documentary traces the road to war with Iran, and the Israeli and U.S. roles. Remaking the Middle East examines Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s long campaign to defeat Iran, his relations with the U.S. over peace and the regime’s nuclear ambitions. The documentary originally premiered in July 2025, one month after escalating tensions between Israel and Iran erupted into all-out war. This updated version will include timely new interviews, exploring what led to the current war.
  • Then, on Tuesday, March 31, at 10/9c (check local listings) FRONTLINE will present an updated and expanded version of its December 2025 investigation, Strike on Iran: The Nuclear Question. In partnership with The Washington Post, Evident Media and Bellingcat, the documentary provides an immersive investigation into Iran’s nuclear program in the aftermath of the June 2025 strikes, using rare on-the-ground access inside Iran and in-depth analysis. It  examines the impact of U.S. strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities and the effects of an Israeli bombing campaign against the country’s top nuclear scientists. From the producing team of Adam Desiderio and Sebastian Walker, who is also the correspondent, the updated documentary will feature new reporting and interviews that investigate the threat Iran posed, the latest strikes and the impact.

The updated version of Remaking the Middle East airs Tuesday, March 10, at 10/9c on PBS stations (check local listings), with streaming available at pbs.org/frontline and in the PBS App. The updated version Strike on Iran: The Nuclear Question airs Tuesday, March 31, at 10/9c on PBS stations and, and will also be available to stream at pbs.org/frontline and in the PBS App. Both documentaries will also be available on the PBS Documentaries Prime Video Channel.
