The award-winning series was nominated for George Foster Peabody Awards in the News, Public Service and Documentary categories.

FRONTLINE, the acclaimed investigative documentary series produced at GBH in Boston, has received six George Foster Peabody Award nominations in the documentary, news and public service categories.

20 Days in Mariupol, FRONTLINE and The Associated Press’ Oscar-winning feature-length documentary was nominated in the Peabody’s Documentary category. Two more of FRONTLINE’s 2023 documentaries, Clarence & Ginni Thomas: Politics, Power and the Supreme Court and Inside the Iranian Uprising, were nominated in the News category.

The Peabody Awards also recognized three FRONTLINE films — America and the Taliban, America’s Dangerous Trucks and After Uvalde: Guns, Grief & Texas Politicswith nominations in the Public Service category. “We’re pleased to see both our domestic and international investigative reporting recognized with these Peabody nominations,” said FRONTLINE editor-in-chief and executive producer Raney Aronson-Rath. “These nominations honor the work of our unflinching reporters and producers and serve as a reminder of the critical value journalism has to communities across the globe.” “We share this good news with our editorial partners — The Associated Press (20 Days in Mariupol), ProPublica (America’s Dangerous Trucks), The Texas Tribune and Futuro Investigates (After Uvalde), and, of course, with GBH, PBS and CPB,” Aronson-Rath added. The Peabody Awards said that the 2024 nominees “demonstrate the best of journalism and the best of storytelling” in the official announcement released on Tuesday.
