Next week, FRONTLINE, the investigative documentary series produced at GBH in Boston, will continue its slate of new programming debuting this month on PBS, on streaming platforms and in theaters, with the premiere of Remaking the Middle East: Israel vs. Iran.

This timely documentary airs Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 10/9c on PBS stations (check local listings) and YouTube, and at 7/6c at PBS.org/frontline and in the PBS App.

Drawing on new, insider interviews, this two-hour special debuts one month after escalating tensions between Israel and Iran erupted into all-out war. The film also explores the role of the U.S. through decades of difficulty in the region.

From award-winning producers James Jacoby and Anya Bourg, Remaking the Middle East: Israel vs. Iran examines Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s long campaign to destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities and counter its proxy forces, the conflict with the Palestinians, and how multiple U.S. presidents have tried to manage the volatile issues at play.

The film is the latest installment of many years of thoughtful, in-depth reporting from FRONTLINE on the Middle East, including the landmark Shattered Dreams of Peace, the acclaimed Bitter Rivals: Iran vs. Saudi Arabia, and last year’s Emmy-nominated A Year of War: Israelis and Palestinians.

Remaking the Middle East: Israel vs. Iran
will be available to watch at pbs.org/frontline and in the PBS App starting July 29, 2025, at 7/6c. It will premiere on PBS stations (check local listings) and on FRONTLINE’s YouTube channel that night at 10/9c and will also be available on the PBS Documentaries Prime Video Channel.
