FRONTLINE’s Presents

“September 11: Afghanistan Then & Now”

A Virtual Event, First in a Series Marking the 20th Anniversary of September 11

Tuesday,  August 31 at 3:00pm ET /12:00pm PT

FRONTLINE invites you to the virtual program, “September 11: Afghanistan Then & Now” — the first conversation in a series of discussions about 9/11 and its aftermath from FRONTLINE and its journalists in the coming weeks.

With the Taliban seizing power as the U.S. withdraws nearly two decades after the start of the war, Afghans and foreign powers are fearful of what comes next in the country, including the potential for civil war. Join award-winning journalists Michael Kirk and Rajiv Chandrasekaran for a virtual discussion on the trajectory of America’s involvement in Afghanistan, from 9/11 to today.

FEATURED SPEAKERS:

– Michael Kirk: Director, Writer, Producer America After 9/11

–  Rajiv Chandrasekaran: Former National Editor, The Washington Post and Author, “Little America: The War Within the War for Afghanistan”

–  Phil Bennett: Special Projects Editor, FRONTLINE (moderator)

Watch the premiere of America After 9/11 — tune in or stream on Tuesday, September 7th. Check your local PBS station listings. Stream Leaving Afghanistan and Taliban Country online, any time.
