Reporting Fellow
The Texas Tribune
Jakob Maurer joins the Tribune as a German Arthur J. Burns Fellow and is based in Austin for the summer. He resides in Frankfurt, Germany, and is a political reporter for Frankfurter Rundschau, a national newspaper. As part of the international exchange program, Jakob will dive deep into Texan culture and politics, focusing on immigration and Latinx issues. He studied journalism in Mainz, Germany, and Valencia, Spain, where he improved his Spanish. Jakob is from Regensburg, Bavaria, and is disappointed his fellowship ends before Wurstfest in New Braunfels.
