How did the U.S. and Israeli strikes in June 2025 impact Iran’s nuclear program?
Over the course of 12 days in June, a series of unprecedented attacks by Israel and the United States targeted the core of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. While President Donald Trump declared the facilities “completely and totally obliterated,” lingering questions remained regarding how far Iran’s nuclear program had been set back.
In this episode of The FRONTLINE Dispatch, host Raney Aronson-Rath speaks with filmmakers Sebastian Walker and Adam Desiderio and visual forensics reporter Nilo Tabrizy, members of the reporting team behind the documentary Strike on Iran: The Nuclear Question, an investigative collaboration with The Washington Post, Evident Media and Bellingcat. The team discusses securing rare access to the country, analyzing satellite imagery and other open sources, and searching for clues to the status of Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
The episode recounts the team’s rare interview with Iran’s top security official, who remains defiant against Western pressure, and the filmmakers consider the possibility that Iran’s nuclear program may have been pushed further underground rather than destroyed.
Strike on Iran: The Nuclear Question is available to stream now on FRONTLINE’s website, FRONTLINE’s YouTube channel, the PBS App and PBS Documentaries on Prime.
