Weather Delays Test Flight

October 30, 1996

Due to inclement ground conditions in Las Vegas, the Virgin around-the-world balloon team has delayed the launch of a test system until early next week. "The first possibility looks like Tuesday", says Lori Levin-Hyams who does public relations for Virgin in the U.S. If weather forecasts for Las Vegas continue to look unstable, the team will move to Reno where launch conditions and inversion layers are historically more favorable.
