Sidescan Sonar(back to What's Sonar Used For?) This image of an unidentified boat, charted by a sidescan sonar, is clearly defined. It was recorded off of Panama City, Florida, in 115-130 feet of water. The top of the image is most likely the stern of the boat that has broken off from the rest of the boat, which can be seen below.
