Window Sill

Depending on its condition, a wooden window sill could be a nice place for carpenter ants to hang (especially if the wood outside has started to rot). The ants bore into the wood to make their nests. The queen ant has it good—she stays inside the nest, lays eggs, and tends to the young while the worker ants scavenge for food. (Get this: Worker ants can go as long as six months without food!) The queen can live up to 15 years. Carpenter ants also take a liking to rotting wood porches.

I'll check my wood later. Take me back to the room.
