ENDGAME: AIDS in Black America
Many people believe that the AIDS crisis has passed.
They're wrong.
Especially in Black America, the disease shows no signs of abating:
- Someone in the U.S. contracts AIDS every 10 minutes. Half of them are black.
- The rate of HIV in Washington, DC is higher than that in the Congo, Ethiopia, Nigeria or Rwanda.
- Black women are more than 15 times as likely to be infected with HIV than white women.
My name is Nathan Tobey, and I run social media for the PBS series FRONTLINE. I wanted to let you know about a powerful new film we're airing this July and suggest an opportunity to work together to spark a national conversation about the AIDS crisis in black America.
Our new film "ENDGAME: AIDS in Black America" -- a groundbreaking two-hour investigation -- premieres on PBS July 10 at 9 pm ET: http://to.pbs.org/Kbjnuq.
Would you be interested in live-tweeting the film with us that night?
We'll be using the hashtag #Frontline — and would love to feature your tweets.
On two keys dates, we invite you to use your social media channels to tweet, update, share facts and stats about AIDS in black America to help raise awareness about this critical issue and film.
We'd love to retweet or otherwise distribute your posts.
Monday, July 9 and or Tuesday July 10th: Days before the film debuts
