[TEHRAN BUREAU] Source: Roozna.com Mohammad-Hossein Saffar-Harandi, the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance in the first Ahmadinejad administration, has rejected rumors that he will be the new head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting.

The head of the IRIB is a position that is appointed by Iran's Supreme Leader.

"[Rumors about] my presence at IRIB are not true and no one has spoken to me about this position," Saffar-Harandi said.

When asked what his response would be if he were to be invited to join the "10 cabinet," [referring to the 1oth administration after the revolution], he said, "I have nothing to say about this issue but it will not happen and it is better not to discuss the improbable."

Saffar-Harandi, who was an editor at Kayhan, [a hardline daily newspaper] before becoming minister, expressed a desire to return to journalism.

Putting the words journalism and Kayhan (or any IRI sponsored media) in the same sentence seems odd to me.
