The Next Interior Minister?

[TEHRAN BUREAU] Source: Asr Iran While other military officials such as Iran's Police chief, Brigadier General Esmail Ahmadi-Moqaddam, attended Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's swearing-in ceremony in uniform, Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar opted for a regular suit jacket.

This move has been interpreted by many as an indication that the Iranian Defense Minister will be assuming a civilian post in the 10th government [Ahmadinejad's second term]. There has been speculation that the Defense Minister will be asked to fill in the position of Interior Minister.

Previously, when Brigadier-General Mohammad-Baqer Zoualqadr became deputy interior minister he turned in his military uniform for a suit.
