Biography
Abe Lange is from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where he became acquainted with antiques as he explored local barns, climbing and scowering for interesting finds. He began collecting and reselling the unique garments, objects and pieces of folk art he discovered. As his interests continued to evolve, so too did his side-hustles. For years he bought and sold successfully in a myriad of categories including sports memorabilia (where he sold at the National Sports Card Convention), furniture, vintage skateboarding ephemera and silver & gold bullion. However, his interest in modern and vintage fashion, art and antiques remained a constant throughout. After graduating high school in 2015, Abe concentrated his efforts on dealing vintage and designer clothing, as well as folk art. He used the profits from this business to help finance his college experience at Sarah Lawrence College, where he majored in Art History and captained the school’s soccer team. After college, Abe continued developing his business and worked for a time as the Director of Sales at Shapiro Auctions in New York. He also provided creative consulting for auction houses and platforms, galleries, and clothing brands.
Abe is known for his eye and curation, specializing in items with a visible history. He currently runs an appointment-only showroom in New York City that showcases a mix of vintage clothing and folk art. His Rolodex of clients extends both nationwide and abroad, including celebrities, stylists, designers and directors of some of fashion’s largest houses who come to Abe to find inspiration and purchase reference pieces.
