Biography
Brendan Synnamon is the owner of The Union Drummer Boy, a renowned Civil War artifact gallery located in historic Gettysburg. A passionate historian and lifelong collector, Brendan began specializing in original Civil War artifacts at the age of 12. With decades of hands-on experience, he has become a trusted authority in the field, assisting museums, institutions, and private collectors in authenticating, appraising, and acquiring significant pieces from the American Civil War.
Brendan is a frequent lecturer, traveling across the country to educate audiences on topics such as collecting pitfalls, proper artifact storage techniques, authentication methods, and forensic evaluation. He has provided professional appraisals for government institutions including the U.S. Army, the National Park Service, and numerous historical organizations. In addition to his professional work, Brendan served for over a decade as President of the Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association, where he helped lead efforts to protect and interpret some of America’s most hallowed ground.
