Biography
Cat Autrey is a professional Luthier servicing instruments all over the Midwest and beyond from her workshop in Broken Arrow, OK. Her business, Autrey Fine Violins, specializes in the repair, restoration, and sale of violins, violas, cellos, and bows.
Cat received her education in Luthiery at the Violin Repair Program in Red Wing, MN under the direction of Lisbeth Nelson Butler. After graduating with honors and two scholarships, Cat went on to work at a local shop in her hometown of Tulsa where she worked for 8 years performing repairs for both students and professionals, setting up new inventory, managing a rental fleet, as well as planning and executing long term restoration projects before starting a business of her own.
Over the course of her career, Cat has been a regular attendee, volunteer, as well as committee member for the Violin Society of America. She continues to attend workshops to hone her craft both at Learning Trade Secrets Workshop and the Violin Restoration Workshop at the Oberlin Conservatory.
