Biography
Douglas Lally is a specialist in prewar European toys and trains who has had a passion for collecting since the age of 13. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2009 with a degree in history, and since then has built a colorful resume working a wide range of jobs from mechanic to wildland firefighter to nature conservationist. Throughout his travels, he always went out of his way to explore flea markets, antique shops, and, of course, train shows. By visiting prominent collections, studying reference books, and working alongside the experts at Bertoia Auctions, he was able to turn his passion into a career as the train specialist for the auction house.
