Biography
Gary Espinosa grew up in the Bay Area where he was introduced to the world of antiques through his family's appraisal business. Mr. Espinosa has authenticated and appraised pieces and collections for antique dealers and collectors throughout the country. In addition, he operated his own restoration business for more than 22 years. Before joining Bonhams & Butterfields in 1988, he managed Corinthian Studios in Saratoga, California, where he purchased and authenticated antiques. He has the knowledge and experience to authenticate and appraise a broad range of period furniture including Early American, formal French, country French, and English pieces, as well as most European, Russian and Oriental furniture. He also has an impressive and much-utilized knowledge of period jewelry, silver, porcelain, textiles, paintings, and decorative arts.
