Biography
Born and raised in the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, area, Willy grew up collecting baseball cards and memorabilia. He worked as sports editor for the North Idaho College Cardinal Review newspaper. He owned and operated a vintage sports memorabilia business, Say Hey Willy's, in Spokane, Washington, beginning in 1988.
Say Hey Willy's operated through mail-order catalogs and trade shows, and expanded to Internet auctions and sales in 1996. The business expanded into other fields including rare books and paper and general antiques in 1997.
In 2001 he started Instant Auction, www.instantauction.net, a Spokane-based live auction of sports memorabilia, antiques and collectibles, and estate liquidations.
