Thankful for American Masters

SHARE

Thanksgiving is a time to remember how lucky we are – and here at American Masters, we are the luckiest. We’re surrounded by the most powerful and insightful masters of our generation. Whether they share words of wisdom or simply funny and intimate moments, we wanted to express how thankful we are for these visionaries and their candor.

This clip of Joan Rivers as she prepared her house for Thanksgiving always reminds us of her sharp sense of humor and never-ending wit:

This excerpt from By Sidney Lumet reminds us that a good story is built through people, not just a plot. The film is premiering January 3, 2017 – so be sure to check your local listings.

James Baldwin and Maya Angelou are absolutely heart-warming in this clip from Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise (coming soon!).

And of course, Norman Lear, the master of tough family conversations – Thanksgiving wouldn’t be complete without his sense of humor. Be sure to catch the full film, Norman Lear: Just Another Version of You, which is available to stream through Thursday, Nov. 24.
