Wild Critters USA is a special family podcast series from “Orbit: Science for kids on the move!”, produced in collaboration with PBS Nature and the National Wildlife Federation.
Travel across the United States to discover the incredible animals and habitats that make America’s wild places unique. From giant American bison roaming the Great Plains to alligators in the Everglades, desert tortoises in the Mojave Desert, and colorful coral reefs in Hawaii, each episode explores a different species through the questions and curiosity of children.
Along the way, kids will meet real scientists, wildlife biologists, and park rangers from organizations including the U.S. National Park Service, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute. Together, they’ll uncover surprising animal behaviors, learn how wildlife survive and thrive in their habitats, and discover what it takes to protect these remarkable species and the places they call home.
Perfect for road trips, family adventures, nature walks, or screen-free learning at home, Wild Critters USA helps children ages 3–10 explore science through stories, wildlife, and imagination.
Originally created as part of the America 250 celebration, this series invites families to discover and appreciate the incredible wildlife found across the United States.
