Bracing for Cranes

RICH GARLOCK: This is a huge area between the North Tower and WTC 6. On top of the debris is a wood ramp built for the contractors who wanted to get a crane out over the pile. We went underground to map the areas of intact structure beneath to see if the columns could support the weight of the crane. In areas where columns were intact, but the surrounding floors were not, we added bracing. Then the columns could take the load.
