Wes Moore – Executive Producer and Host
Wes Moore was a paratrooper and Captain in the United States Army, serving a combat tour of dutyin Afghanistan with the 1st Brigade of the 82nd Airborne Division in 2005-2006. He was involved in managing the American strategic support plan for the Afghan Reconsiliation Program, and analyzed the rise and ramifications of radical Islamism in the Western Hemisphere. As a White House Fellow during 2006-2007, Moore served as a Special Assistant to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. His first book, The Other Wes Moore, became an instant New York times and Wall Street Journal best-seller. He is a regular contributor to NBC News and was host of ABC's "Beyond Belief" for OWN.
Joel Olicker – Executive Producer
Joel Olicker, co-founder and CEO of Powderhouse Productions, is executive producer of Coming Back with Wes Moore. Over a three-decade career, Olicker has overseen the development and production of hundreds of hours of documentary and non-fiction programming for PBS, WGBH, Oregon Public Broadcasting, History, A&E, Discovery and other networks. A proud native of Queens, New York, he’s an alumnus of Hampshire College and the Bronx High School of Science. He lives in Arlington, Massachusetts, with his wife and two children. Olicker’s father served in Europe as a U.S. Army captain during World War II.
Molly Fowler – Co-Executive Producer
Molly Fowler is an award-winning producer, director and writer for television, film and drama. She produced for ABC’s PrimeTime Live, then became a programming executive for ABC Daytime. Since then, her documentary work has been seen on Discovery, National Geographic, Lifetime, OWN and A&E. Two of her feature documentaries were developed at the Tribeca Institute and subsequently screened at the Tribeca Festival. She lived in a men’s maximum security prison to make "Serving Life" for Oprah’s Doc Club which she executive produced with Forest Whitaker and which earned, among others, Christopher and Humanitas Awards. She and Wes Moore began their collaboration on a series produced by ABC "Beyond Belief" for OWN. Her father is a Navy veteran of WWII.
