Apple drops Akamai in favor of a different edge-serving CDN (content delivery network) -- possibly Apple's own or one Apple-labeled but Google-owned. I keep looking for a reason why Eric Schmidt is on the Apple board.

The reason I think it wouldnt be google is because I know of someone who spoke with Apple on the salesdeal and they work a different Startup that doesnt get much press in the CDN space.

yea...I'm not so sure I would be quoting Mark Cuban as my source on ANYTHING, lol, but you're right about the contract. No offense...I just think the guy is a waste of fresh air. But, I'm going to go with Bob on this one.

I suggest that you listen in on the akamai conference call on 2/7/7 at 4:30 PM. You will find that AAPL has a MULTIYEAR contract w/ Akamai and that if Google were to provide AAPL w/ services instead of Akamai, Akamai loses nothing because Google employs Akamai extensively. According to Marc Cuban (owner of the Dallas Mavericks), "everyone knows that." I suggest you get off your animosity! Conrades is no longer in charge.Pay your bills on time! vince
