Letter to Henry Knox, April 05, 1794
TRANSCRIPT GLC 2437.53.083
George Washington. Autographed letter signed: [s.l.], to Secretary of War Henry Knox, 1794 April 05. 1 p.

Dr. Sir

The Letter appears to me to be very proper, but Genl. Chapins negotiations with the Six Nations ought to be apart from British Agents or Spies – I mean with the Chiefs – otherwise they can come to nothing.

Yrs &ca,
GW—

Saturday
5th Arpil 1794

Notes: Published in Fitzpatrick, John C. The Writings of George Washington. v. 33: 314.
