Sir
[struck: In consequence] Agreably to your Excellencys directions
to me, Mr Garownson was orderd to West point to give
some specimens of his knowledge in Artillery and particularly
in projectiles The superior tendance of this matter
was committed to Major Barconan who has reported his opinion
in consequence of some experiments [strike-out] made on the
16th instant of which the enclosd is a copy
