Things have changed since September 11th because I now look over my shoulder
at low flying planes, and when I am in an airport, I look closely at everyone
and try to size them up. Just little things like that, and well, it has
just made me think about everyone and what they could do.
Overall, I don't feel that life has returned to normal. I know I still look
twice when I see a plane flying overhead. My sense of security has been
broken, but I have not let that ruin my life. I just look at things more
carefully.
Since September 11th, the tension around the world, whether it be in Israel,
Pakistan, India, or other places, is still happening, whether I know about
it or not. So I try to distance myself from world news because it is so
depressing and worrisome. I like local New York news and national news.
But with world news, it is just "attack this" and "bomb that"
and "their plan to attack this". It is very frightening.
September 11th has given me an understanding of wars in other countries,
but the World Trade Center collapsing is very different than what other
countries are going through in wars. I got an understanding, but I don't
know what it is really like in other parts of the world because it is very
different in America.
