The act of immigrating; the passing or coming into a country for the purpose of permanent residence. Mi grate - v. intr. To move from one country, place or locality to another, often to find work, especially in harvesting crops. Mi·gra·tion - n. 1. The act or an instance of migrating. 2. A group migrating together.
