Dear Educator,

The lesson plans provided within this section are designed to help you further explore the subject of aviation in the classroom.

In addition to science and technology, these lessons also cover the subjects of language arts, history, civics and economics. Many of the lessons tie in not only with the "Chasing the Sun" series, but with content provided within other sections of the series' companion web site. Each lesson plan includes learning objectives, education standards, procedures, and suggestions for extensions of the lessons. A summary of the lessons appears below.

We'd love to hear your thoughts about the web site and the resources it contains. Please send your feedback to chasingthesun@kcet.org. For more information on teacher resources to accompany PBS programs and on PBS extended taping rights for educators, please visit PBS TeacherSource.

Sincerely,

Nancy McIntyre
Education Advisor for "Chasing the Sun"
