Named 'Best New Artist' at the 2001 L.A. Weekly Music Awards, Slowrider defies musical borders, capturing a sound that both soothes and scintillates. In 1999, the band released "Mas Alla," a six song EP co-produced by Ozomatli's Wil-Dog Abers and Ulises Bella. The EP has sold over 4,000 copies with virtually no distribution and reached the #8 spot on the CMJ Latin Alternative charts. Slowrider also contributed to the Mexamerica compilation, Ruben Guevara's collection of Latin artists from the North and South of Tijuana. This solid core of musical talent has just released their debut CD, a significant, heart felt 13-song release entitled "Nacimiento."
