
At a barbershop, JEAN and DERARD discuss their girlfriends. Jean has decided to give MARIA a Promise Ring, declaring his love and intent to eventually marry her. He realizes how much she means to him and wants their relationship to grow. When he gives her the ring in class they have a very emotional moment together.
Derard has been getting closer and closer to his girlfriend, who he met at work. He thinks she's "the one," and they move in together.
JET is trying to become a model, and goes to two agencies. He doesn't get very far, though, and feels like he's way out of his league. "Those people are so not me!"
KARLA tells the school psychologist that her mother is never proud of her no matter what she does, and that hurts. The psychologist encourages her to be proud of herself, even if her mother never is.
ELIZABETH reveals that her father left the family years ago, and she is still struggling to come to terms with that. "Why would you create a child and then just leave?"
