Dr. Chahin and Hector Galan The Forgotten Americans debuted at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. on March 17, 2000.

About 200 guests joined the children, parents, teachers and the project team for the first public showing of the film. Since then the film has also been shown at the El Paso Museum of Arts, the National Migrant Education Conference, the University of Texas at San Antonio and other universities. It will air on PBS in December and now we begin promoting the film and creating a web site to go along with it.

I hope this film will help to raise people's awareness and I hope it will increase people's interest in Hispanic culture.
