Cookbook author Steve Raichlen has embraced grilling as a way of life at his home in Coconut Grove, Florida. A Jewish cab driver from Gaziantep in southern Turkey taught him the recipe for his Grilled Vegetable Salad. Like many Middle Eastern salads, it is best prepared a day or so in advance.
