Joyce Goldstein Joyce Goldstein is a chef, a prolific writer, a teacher and consultant. A lover of good food and culinary traditions she was the chef and owner of San Francisco's ground breaking Mediterranean restaurant Square One for 12 years. Prior to opening Square One, she spent three years as the chef at Chez Panisse Cafe and 18 years as an instructor at the California Street Cooking School, which she founded. The author of 18 books, Goldstein is perhaps best known in the literary world for her award-winning title The Mediterranean Kitchen.
