Jewish Pot Luck

Just like the good old American tradition of church potluck dinners, Jews have their "bring your own" catered affairs. When the occasion is a potluck Sabbath, two dishes are likely to be there: kugel or noodle pudding and cholent, a slow-simmered stew of beef, beans, potatoes and spices.
