On Nov. 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy and his wife, Jacqueline, made their way through the streets of Dallas, smiling and waving to the crowd.  During the course of the trip, an assassin's gunshots killed the president, ending his storied rise to political power and leaving an indelible mark of disbelief and dashed hopes on an entire generation.
