The exhibit "Design for the Other 90 Percent," organized by the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and now on display at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, showcases innovative products aimed at serving the needs of people living in developing countries. The Online NewsHour spoke to the makers of three of the featured designs.

| Among the waterborne diseases LifeStraw aims to prevent is guinea worm. Guinea worm is spread through stagnant water that contains infective larvae that will eventually grow inside the human body and can reach three feet long. |
