Quelling Insurgency in Afghanistan FLASH VERSION
U.S.-led coalition and NATO forces are fighting a growing Taliban insurgency in Afghanistan, while other efforts are underway to help the country rebuild. In March, Margaret Warner visited Taliban hotspots with the U.S. military and accompanied the Nebraska National Guard on an agricultural mission.

Afghanistan, There were more armed militant attacks in 2008 than at any time since the Taliban government fell in late 2001. Currently, about 38,000 U.S. soldiers and 32,000 NATO troops are in Afghanistan to combat a mixture of Taliban, anti-government insurgents, local warlords and other criminal elements.
